You Have to Be Mad to Lead A Meaningful Life

In the context of this write-up, a mad man is not someone that is afflicted by insanity or afflicted with madness like people may think of.

I call a mad man someone that is obsessed about achieving his purpose in life.

He's a man who won't give up on his dreams.

He's a man that is passionately obsessed with his purpose.

No joke at all with such a man.

He's drawn to becoming a better person and is attracted to becoming the best he can become in life.

He's a man who will not hesitate to pursue excellence even if death is the end of the pursuit.

He's a man that is ready to have a handshake with danger as long he's able to live a fulfilling life.

He never flows with the rhythm of mediocre poetry of impossibility.

He will never dance to the tune of failure.

Even though failure is the status quo and the highly anticipated end result, he will never be caught in the loop.

He's very crazy.

He'll not observe stupid protocol or stick to fruitless and boring routine of doing things.

He doesn't belong to party of people who leave things to fate; people who see fate as the decider of their destiny.

The mad man is so crazy; he won't listen to the voice of people who wants him to give up.

His only belief is that the only time to give up is when he gives up the ghost.

He's a man with a bizarre philosophy.

His philosophy and ideology of life is not rooted in failure.

Though he might face failure, he believes that failure is just a step away success.

He's ready to endure the pain of failure to reap the reward of success.

That's a mad man's way of life.

Be that mad man.

Now, what do we call a weird world?

The truth:

The world is weird.

It's as well a wild haven.

It's such a dangerous apartment that only a mad tenant can occupy.

How many times have you heard that the world owes you nothing?

Yes; that's the reality of the world we live in.

It owes you nothing and desires everything good from you.

There is a strong force in the world.

The spiritually inclined will call it terrestrial powers and forces that be.

The scientific will call it pulling force or dragging force.

I'll go with the scientific explanation.

The force I'll discuss is the force of gravity.

You were able to stand on your feet because there is a force keeping your feet on the ground.

You cannot but obey the law of gravity.

In real world application, see gravity as a force that prevents success.

Sexual perversion is one of those forces.

To be honest, sex is good.

But it could ruin your life if you devote the totality of your life to be having it indecently.

As a student, you were not sent to school to run sex errands.

You were sent to have good education and become a better person.

Don't be distracted by any sexual relationship.

You are in this world for a purpose.

Serve that purpose.

Desire success and pursue it with your whole.

Don't buy into the nonsensical idea of sex for grade.

Be mad at that lecturer who wants to give you STG—Sexually Transmitted Grade.

Say no.

Let him call you coconut head.

Yes, you are!

You're the coconut head that cannot be cracked by moral indecency.

That's who you are, he and his cohorts are not mistaken.

Let me tell you a story.

I know of a weak man who likesnti fight.

He's a very violent man.

But the interesting thing is, even if you beat him up, he'll never relent until he's able to defeat you.

Imagine engaging in a street fight with such a guy and you beat him to pulp, and the hospital has his legs hanged.

He'll defer the pain the second day.

He'll break the hospital's gate and locate you wherever you are and replay the scene of beating you gave him.

He'll lock you at the neck and will feel like knocking you down.

Even if he failed the second time, he'll try again another time, and again, another time.

“When will this troublesome guy stop the nonsense?”

Newsflash: He won't stop.

He's that very crazy.

He won't stop meeting you for more beating.

He will only stop when you apologize to him and when you accept defeat.

I know that guy is insane.

Right?

But I learn a lot from his insanity more than I could from some wisdom.

It is that the guy I'm talking about will not give up on his purpose until he succeeds.

He will not accept a defeat, even after a SmackDown.

Steve Jobs’ statement comes to the mind:

He said those who are crazy to think that they can change the world are the ones who actually change the world.

When Thomas Edison came with the idea of lightning from a bulb, I know of some people who'll say the young boy is running mad.

Yes, he's mad for imagining things that a mundane heart cannot process.

He's actually mad for making the unreal real and available for real-life application.

That's a good insanity.

There is a young guy in the Bible.

His name is David.

When the nation of Israel was under the threat of a General called Philistines, the young boy rose and said he would defeat the General.

This is a General who when he speaks, even the king panics.

Who wouldn't have thought that David is actually insane for confronting him?

Does he want to lose his life untimely?

The General is Goliath; a giant that would squeeze David within the twinkle of an eye.

He'll crumple David under the hollow of his palms in just a jiffy.

David is crazy to have thought of engaging Goliath in battle.

The young man knew that no force on earth can defeat the thought of a man who's determined to succeed.

David ignored the whispers in the air and every other strange and discouraging sound to hunt Goliath.

Wawu! He smashed Goliath.

He crushed a giant.

And disgraced a nation.

That's the power of craziness.

Even if David hadn't succeed, he will die an hero.

Rather to die an hero than live long for nothing.

Here is a lesson:

If you live for nothing, you'll die for nothing.

If your existence is not meaningful, then your inexistence is better off.

That's just the plain truth.

Another monster you must crush in order to do well in this crazy world is what I call instant gratification.

What's instant gratification?

It's wanting to have a great reward when you have only made little effort.

That's what we call instant gratification.

It's just like the imagination of a skimmer—he wants to succeed in medicine without reading.

Oh, what a fool he is!

Instant gratification is wanting to harvest when you have not even tilled the ground.

Have you seen any farmer do that?

I bet you haven't.

Have you?

If you have, you have just watched a comedy or magic show.

How on earth is that possible?

One more: seeking permission before making a bold step.

Here is the thing:

When your plan is to make something rarely in existence happen, people will discourage you.

Why?

People are selfish.

They believe you cannot make any meaningful thing happen until that thing has happened to them.

People speak from experience.

That's why they'll always make reference to their boy who just graduated from America.

Talk about wanting to pursue a degree in that same America and you'll hear them say impossible things about your endeavours?

Why?

They believe what they have experienced is the unbeatable best that could happen in life...

And that same cannot be repeated in another person's life.

Don't wait for validation — external or internal before you pursue your purpose.

Whether or not you tell people about your move, nothing will work out until you make it happen.

That's just the plain truth.
